Shadow Strike
Strike from the void, a phantom blade that ends lives before shadows can fall.
Shadow Strike is a lethal Spirit Art mastered by Jin Sakai, representing the Ghost's willingness to embrace the shadows to protect Tsushima. Unlike traditional samurai duels fought in the light of honor, this technique allows Jin to instantly teleport behind unsuspecting foes and deliver a fatal blow with his katana before they can react. It serves as a cornerstone of the Ghost's fighting style, symbolizing the shift from rigid adherence to tradition to the pragmatic necessity of survival against the Mongol invasion.

Lore & Background
This ability marks Jin's transformation into the Ghost. While the samurai fight for honor in the open, the Ghost fights for survival in the dark. Shadow Strike embodies this duality; it is a technique that requires the user to abandon their ego and become one with the environment. It is whispered among the islanders as a miracle of divine intervention or a curse of demonic speed, but for Jin, it is simply the only way left to ensure Tsushima remains free from Mongol tyranny.
In Their Own Story
The fog rolled thick over the valley, obscuring the Mongol encampment. Jin stood motionless among the reeds, his breath steady, his heart still. A patrol of three warriors laughed nearby, their spears clinking against armor. With a surge of spiritual energy, the world seemed to blur and dissolve. In an instant, the air shimmered behind the lead guard. Before the man could turn, a blade flashed through the mist, silent as a falling leaf. The guards fell one by one, never knowing the enemy had touched them, leaving only the echo of the wind in their place.
Reader's Guide
Shadow Strike is unlocked after Jin fully embraces his role as the Ghost during the main story progression. To use it, players must hold the Spirit Art button while aiming at an enemy to initiate a teleportation dash directly behind them, instantly executing a fatal strike if the target is unaware or distracted. This technique is most effective against isolated enemies or when breaking through heavy armor that would otherwise require multiple strikes. Upgrades are found within the Spirit Art tree in the menu, allowing for increased range, faster cooldowns, and the ability to chain strikes against multiple targets. In combat, use Shadow Strike to eliminate high-value targets like Officers or Heavy Mongols before they can call for reinforcements. It is particularly devastating when combined with the Stone Stance to break guards, followed by a teleport to finish off the incapacitated foe.
